Seizures can result from many different
causes related to underlying medical conditions
and/or illness and injuries related to the
brain and central nervous system. Environmental
exposure related to heat, envenomation, and
poisoning can cause seizures. Cardiac, diabetic
and pregnancy disorders can also cause
seizures.
What ever the cause knowing
what to do to protect the patient during a
seizure as well as after it stops is a valuable
asset to your first aid training.
